Character Challenge: Val

Part of my challenge to myself, to draw a selected OC and then add a cool blurb of information about them C: 
Drew him as a younger teen. Dang it, he's so cute and cuddly looking. vuv

I forgot to add his lil light blue marking above his eye ;o; /sob/ but ye, that's part of his actual design ;v;

Val is one of the few royal guards for Pharos. He's fairly dense, having never had a higher education due to poverty. Working as a citizen along side with his brother was one of the few ways for him to earn coin, though it was never enough. He wanted to become someone important, hoping that it'd ease the burden on his brother (Val was cute back then). But after being drafted and promoted to a high ranking guard, he forgot his goal. Though he does send a little bit of his salary back home, the family eventually began to earn less than they originally had. His brother Vanya approached him one day about it, gently trying to persuade him to be a little more generous. Val felt attacked at this point, and fed up with the way his brother was being -- to him, a dick and not appreciative -- cut off all ties.
